President of the Human Rights Commission thanks the leadership for the issuance of the Council of Ministers resolution on the approval of the Arab Protocol to Prevent and Combat Trafficking in Persons

Start wDr. Awad bin Saleh Alawwad, President of the Human Rights Commission, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz for the issuance of the Council of Ministers resolution on the approval of the Arab Protocol to Prevent and Combat Trafficking in Persons, especially in women and children, and the Arab Protocol for Prevention and Combating Maritime Piracy and Armed Robbery, which supplement the Arab Convention against Trans-national Organized Crime.

His Excellency underlined the government's to ensure the protection of the life and dignity of man.

He added that the Kingdom has paid great attention to combating human trafficking crimes through its laws and regulations as well as and international conventions and protocols to which it has acceded, and memorandums of cooperation signed with relevant international organizations and bodies, indicating that the crime of human trafficking is one of the most heinous crimes violating human rights, depriving man from his freedom and threatening his dignity.

Dr. Alawwad also explained that the Kingdom's efforts have contributed to building a legal and institutional framework that guarantees the protection of persons from trafficking crimes without discrimination, and promotes the prosecution and conviction of perpetrators and imposes severe punishments as well as to provide health, psychological and legal assistance to victims.

Dr. Alawwad praised the Kingdom's efforts in the protection and promotion of human rights on all levels, based on its values and emphasizing the fact that all those living in the Kingdom should enjoy their rights as stated in the Kingdom's laws.riting here...
